About Isaiah 61 Ministries of Pittsburgh

We are passionate about our Lord Jesus Christ.
We are passionate about a hurting world.

The goal of the Isaiah 61 ministry of Pittsburgh is to sow into lives via special teachings , accompanied by worship, and laying on of hands for healing and deliverance, accompanied by words of knowledge and other prophetic utterances as the Spirit gives to enrich the Body.

There are two ways to interpret Isaiah 61: physical and spiritual.  The physical, and emotional - the “felt needs” are generally perceived.
So, let’s look at the spiritual: Jesus said: “The spirit of the Lord is upon me because He has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor, the broken-hearted, the captives and the blind” (Lu. 4:18).  These are spiritual statements. In a spiritual sense He is speaking of the poor in spirit (Matt. 5:3). The broken-hearted are the contrite ones (Is. 57:15).  The captives are those whom Satan has taken captive to do his will (2 Tim. 2:26); and the blind are those of whom the god of this world has blinded lest the light of the glorious gospel should shine on them (2 Cor. 4:4).

These are those to whom we have been called to minister: the spiritually, physically, and emotionally broken -  the entire person.

Another key goal is for each one to be able to recognize their gifts, and further to provide an opportunity for those gifts to be enhanced, developed, and to grow so the Lord can use them wherever the individual is planted.

We carry forth the same message of the Gospel (Mark 16:15-18), but employ different methods than may be generally utilized.

We want to minister to those who long for more of Christ and desire an increased revelation of His presence in their life...

...those who have a hunger for more of  Jesus, yet have no clue about the work of the Third Person of the Godhead - the Holy Spirit in whose body we are baptized and elevated to a new position in Christ.

We desire to impress upon a searching world how much Jesus loves us -  that is, to the extent that we are able to understand and express that phenomenon ourselves - how He wants the best for us ALWAYS, and is constantly drawing seeking hearts closer and closer to experience love as only Jesus can give - in times of joy and sorrow, heartache and celebration.

We want His people to be informed of the forces around us whose raison d’etre (reason for being) is to steal, kill and destroy life and to drag us into Hell’s torment, both while on earth and in Hell for eternity. Truly, we suffer and perish for lack of knowledge.   Jesus is a God Who wants His people to be free.

The spirit rulers of this present darkness are ever at work to establish strongholds in the minds of
unsuspecting believers, to impose upon them the mind-set of the world.

We need to know about, and how to use, the power and authority in which we walk in the Holy Spirit.  “There is a dearth in the land” of this understanding.

We need to be informed who the enemy of God is, and how he strategizes to destroy God’s people.  Furthermore, we need to understand and utilize spiritual warfare, the weapons of which are given to us by our Lord Jesus for victorious living.  This is why Jesus is called  the ”Lion of the Tribe of Judah,” and the “Captain of the Lord’s hosts.”

We need to understand the place and power of prayer, private and corporate, without which nothing happens, but through which God causes worlds to collide in our behalf.

Often, the Lord’s people want to know how to walk in Christ, but are bound by a powerless, flavorless, numbing, crippling, deadening, lifeless, time-wasting, God-less experience called “religion” - which God hates.

“May you experience the love of Christ,... then you will be made complete with all the fulness of life and power that can come from God.”  (And Him only!)  Emphasis added.  Ephesians 3:19  NLT
